I’m curious how other people handle weekly meal planning.
I often struggle to balance three things at the same time:
- staying within my grocery budget
- using food before it goes bad
- reaching my calorie and protein goals
Most methods or apps I’ve tried seem to focus on only one or two of these.
Ideally, I’d like a system where I can enter what food I already have, my budget, household size, and nutrition goals, and then get a weekly meal plan and shopping list based only on what is missing. Reusing dinner leftovers for lunch would also be useful.
A few questions:
- Do you have the same problem, or is your current system working well?
- Would a tool like this be useful regularly, or only occasionally?
- What would make you trust or distrust its calorie and cost estimates?
- Is there already an app or method that solves this well for you?
I’m mainly interested in learning how other people deal with this.
