seriously...that would have been so cool. Creating peace by uniting...nagatos plan should have been ultimately this
The Japanese myths were written down to establish the royal family as Amaterasu's descendants and thus having the heavenly mandate.
The feudal period in japan ended with the royal family coming back (still the amatsukami). So the Uchiha wanting to be emperors wouldn't be far off.
Would it have been an interesting plot point? How would it go in your opinion?

My theory was that Madara was a misguided "ultimate good guy" who was acting as such a colossal threat that the rest of the world would put aside their differences and unite against him. And, to a degree, it would have worked. I'm not caught up with Boruto, so maybe this has changed, but the five nations are allies and major conflict between them is a thing of the past.
The Ninja villages are kinda okay with each other. The feudal lords are problematic tho. Someone should be above them. :D
they are much more interesting as products of war, who see the real world as hell and want to eliminate war by eliminating freewill (madara) escape hell by living in fantasy (obito)
They are the Senate
There’s a fanfic with that being Naruto’s goal (who was tampered with to eventually get the Rinnegan). It was called Naruto Uchiha: The Sage.
it'd be a different series but i'd watch the hell out of that. also if you're a bot, I definitely want the part where they launched airships right up the tail of the bijuu. this is the only way to legitimize an emperor.
I don't think it's too far from Naruto wanting to be Hokage, only in a bigger scale. Which matches Obito being some version of Naruto. But instead of looking for peace through connections, he or Madara would just take over everything. And Kaguya-hime's main love interest was the Emperor too. Madara and Kaguya could've been a power couple. (Although I love the fact that Naruto is so against Obito's dream plan, but Naruto's solution was literally to die with Sasuke, because then they would be free) And if you count Naruto too as an Abe no Seimei reference, he had someone he shared a teacher with: Kamo no Yasunori (as Nagato), who worked for the emperor. And the first emperor according to the kojiki met a sea deity who joined him called Uzuhiko. Like Boruto's Rasengan.
