This happened multiple times now. My friends show me one of their male friends and sooner or later they start making sexist and/or racist jokes or expressing those kind of opinions.
I have some male friends myself that are very nice so im not saying that all men are secretly bad people, but i find it really weird how they ‘show their true colours’ whenever i start talking to them. My best friend sometimes jokes about how im cursed with turning men into weirdos.
Has anyone else experienced this or knows why this keeps happening?

Unfortunately it seems to be the case that most people are quite flawed once you really get to know them.

Well nobody is perfect so if that's on your friend requirement list then there are zero options available for yourself.
Lot's of us make jokes without any malice behind it. It's definitely the minority that are actually racist/sexist. Chances are your nice male friends also make similar jokes, just not around you.

Because joking or saying your opinion is politically incorrect in this fuck up world that we life. In this society Women feel entitled to do wherever she want and if someone desagree and say some things they don't like you are bad like this post. A joke is a joke the worse the better sexist, recism about the death those a the funny ones but some people cannot comprehend that a joke is a joke.
I don’t think it’s very funny to joke about anyone’s suffering.
It's kind of like a competition between guys, everyone knows they don't mean it so it's a game of who can say the most offensive thing. There's also an element in general humor of a silent "wouldn't it be funny if". For example, wouldn't it be funny if someone was so dumb they thought a blonde got fired from the m&m factory for throwing away the W's. Or wouldn't it be funny if someone thought black people stink so blind people could hate them too. It's obviously nothing anyone would take literally, It's just how jokes are made. If you find yourself getting offended by something someone obviously meant as a joke, maybe try not to take everything so seriously.
Your friends are probably walking on eggshells around you and making jokes you find racist/sexist with their other friends when you arent around. Those friends of friends dont realize you dont like them so they tyhink you are cool with it since you are hanging out with the people they make those jokes with. One of my friends, her girlfriend doesnt like some of the jokes our friends group makes, so when she is around we dont make them, tone down our jokes, we dont shit talk each other as much because it just makes her uncomfortable. However when our other friends meet up with us they see most of our group and just start yapping away like normal not realizing that friend A doesnt find that humor funny.
There is a difference between dark humor and actual beliefs. My friend Seth says the wildest shit about race, religion, women and anyone just hearing it in passing you'd probably want to throw hands with him. At the end of the days thats just his humor, he's extra goofy and we been great friends for well over 20 years now, man isn't racist one bit and treats his woman like a queen.
