I saw a post about his location via gps tracker before and after the avalanche... and it's pretty much guarenteed that he is gone. He got swept something to the tune of 6k vert down extremely steep terrain. RIP
I believe most current now is that 4 of the missing climbers were found, deceased. Regardless of how you feel about Nims specifically, its absolutely tragic.
This is being discussed a lot in the mountaineering forum but it's good to keep in mind that a. GPS is not foolproof, esp the steeper the terrain (ever tried to track a rock climb on gps? It looks crazy). b. The area they were swept is under a large rock ridge, making it likely less reliable. c. My experience with gps in that valley was quite erratic, watching tracks jump up and down by 100 m and waiting half an hour for sat devices to catch a signal. So its a helpful metric for are people moving and vaguely where are they on the mountain but relatively small "movement" is not proof of anything.
