I built this to fix my own problem, honest feedback wanted.
Every DAW treats the sample browser like a filler feature — no real search, no key/BPM at a glance, no waveform worth looking at. I got tired of it and built Wave Silo: a standalone, offline sample manager that drags straight onto a track in Ableton / Logic / FL / whatever.
What it does:
- Drag any sample (or a whole folder) right into your DAW
- Real BPM + key detection — it analyzes the audio, not the filename
- Waveform + live frequency spectrum, per-channel metering, audition before you commit
- Fuzzy search ("kikpunch" finds "Kick_Punch"), tags, favorites, ratings, folder tree
- Non-destructive: it never moves, renames, or touches your files on disk
- Handles tens of thousands of files, scanning in the background
- WAV/AIFF/MP3/FLAC/OGG + MIDI (built-in synth + piano-roll)

Free, offline, no account, no cloud, no subscription. Mac / Windows / Linux. Built it for my own workflow and use it daily — looking for honest feedback on what's missing. (Short drag-to-DAW clip attached.)
