This is going to sound pompous but it’s true: Gay men tend to have and often influence taste. Our cultural influence far outweighs our numbers. Lingo often starts with us, Artists that are embraced by us tends to have staying power, we influence fashion far disproportionately to our numbers, interior design is basically entrusted with the resume of being gay alone, etc etc etc. I’m not sure what many of us have that others don’t, but I think it stems from being unrestricted by normalcy.

I think gays sometimes have a less biased opinion on art. You can like something without being afraid of someone judging you cause it’s too feminine or too gay to like something. And if they feel accepted by a fan community in a world where others are inherently unaccepting they are loyal asf
