Just hoping to get some advise. I am wondering if my app is to expensive. Its a baby tracking app, however I did a lot of research and added more features than many other baby apps out there, tried to declutter as I didn't want to over stimulate new parents- being a parent my self and someone using the app I didn't want something too flashy.
the app is £6.99 a month, other apps which don't have many features and look really not great were charging £4.99 a month, there is one big one which has one major feature but still doesn't include some features we do and they charge £12.99 a month i think.
Is £6.99 too much?
Are you getting sales? If getting overwhelmed = too cheap Yes = good price Not as many as I want = slightly too expensive No = too expensive Other answer is no one actually wants the features.
Not getting sales but also I don't think the app is in front of the right people. My wife and I use it, my sister who has a really ill child is making use of it- when she found out about this app she said she was looking for something like this. Another couple people i know using it.

try to offer bigger discounts for early users and see how it goes from there.
I gave 2 weeks for premium access, allowing them to see if they like it. I just suck at marketing aha
from my experience you need to make the price higher for parents to feel its a premium product really worth it. 16.99 if paid yearly and 18.99 if paid monthly.
i've got it as 6.99 a month and 49.99 for the year. My competitor has 12.99 a month and 105.99 a year
How are you marketing the app? Do people know it exists?
I did a FB ad, created some tiktok videos- I haven't created more, i just dont want to be repetitive, probably need more ideas for videos. Done some showing the app features and an image carousel
Another app doesn’t have all the features but it has what the customer needs and is cheaper. I also personally wouldn’t want to subscribe to something right off the bat and more so if it was relevantly “unknown”. (unless heavily reviewed and vetted) I’d think if the competition is strong and you’re not already a “known” contender the price is too high. (even with more features) I’d choose a more known competitor, with the features I need, at a lower price. If the price was the same and since yours has more features I’d be better inclined to research your app and compare.
I guess my question is what does your app do that requires a subscription? In general I think a lot of people are getting tired of subscriptions - especially for products that really don’t need a subscription. No offense but a baby tracker seems like something that might be of benefit for maybe two years and you’re done (unless you’re tracking beyond infancy or multiple children). As a user I’m not expecting to have a lot of new features added - and just a simple survey of the baby tracker app market seems to indicate that outside of maybe storing a configuration or data - there should be no need for services off device. So either a one time purchase, an annual charge that tracks to a major version release, or a license per child. Either way a monthly subscription feels a bit predatory for an app that has limited use. I’m likening this to the print-from-your-phone apps that support non-AirPrint devices - every single one of them is a subscription for no good reason. I have one or two printers. A subscription for an app that requires no cloud services for where the user likely needs no additional support for additional devices (no different than children aging out of your app) just feels slimy. As a developer myself I understand the need for continuous revenue to keep an app supported. But the features still need to be compelling to require a continuous subscription fee. Otherwise charge a one time fee that keeps it going for the typical usage duration or move to an annual model. Monthly is overkill for a solution that targets primary young people with limited income.
Rather than a free trial for premium, I think you should offer a full free trial of the app (aka 2wks plus premium), then 2wks free of just the app without premium (so the first month the app is free). So they get a feel with or without premium. Then offer one of two payment plans. Maybe £4 without premium, £7 with
