I set my opinions of Oliver North to the side to read his novel, The Rifleman. I figured, he had seen combat and I love stories about black powder wars. It was one of the worst hunks of paper I've ever encountered. The first third of the book feels like it is Bible quotes taken out of context to justify war, personal freedom over everything, and premarital sex if done discreetly. The battle scenes felt like the vile middle of a line with John Wayne's WWII movies on one side, and a PG-13 romance movie with a couple of war flashbacks. It was awful.

That's weird. Typically there are controls in the numbers themselves such as checksums to avoid this problem since transposition errors are so common.
