Post: Every group activity, every playground visit I was her shadow.
She was reserved, observant, never physically participated. When she learned to talk she would discuss everything that happened in the way home or at home, even days later. Absolutely would not interact with the teachers or children.
She's slowly become an active participant in classes/activities, using the playground equipment without me, interact with other kids.
We've been to the playground twice in the last two weeks for catch ups and I sat down!!
Not because it was snack time! Because she ran off and played with the kids .... by herself.... without my encouragement...
It didn't take her an hour to warm up... she got straight into it.
She still has her moments during different classes or depending on her hunger/poo levels and which phase of the moon we're in ... but wow I never knew when the day would come or if it ever would.
It's something I worried alot about and when I accepted it was just the way she is, it didn't make everything magically easier but I kept at the classes, the routine, the exposure and now she has familiar faces in children and adults, familiar places we go and she plays at.
