Hello everyone! This is my first post I apologize if its long!
My father is in his late 60s and he cant be quite opinionated. All my life he has struggled to see my pov and puts little to no effort to understand me. Due to his stubbornness he tends to have a "its my way or the highway" mindset.
Every year we go on a camp trip. The campground we go to has a lake that is also open to the public (non campers) if they pay an entrance fee. The campground is fairly small and all the sites are very well within walking distance to the beach.
With today being the hottest day of the week, as well as it being a Saturday, the parking lot is filling up very quickly. At this point the park staff is no longer allowing campers to drive into the beach, so they can allow the paying non campers to enter. However, campers are allowed to drive in, empty their cars and set up, as long as they drive it back to the campsite and walk in. This is really no big deal! Especially with how close the sites are to the beach, I think everyone should be allowed to enjoy the lake especially if they paid to be here.
My dad exploded on the park staff and started screaming at them across the parking lot for "turning people away" (which is not what they were doing at all). I was embarrassed being part of his party because it made me feel like I looked bad too. I told him I really wish he didnt explode like that, because the staff was just doing their job.
He then got pissed off at me and told me he wishes I would have just dropped it. He went back to the camp and he is packing up and going home leaving me here. We are supposed to be going home tomorrow anyway, but I feel like he definitely killed the last day here. I work in customer service (he never has) and I can't help but feel bad for the staff. Anyways AITAH?
