Curious how you think it’s woke? Asking to potentially discuss, not aggressively challenge. :) I can see that her driving at the end of the day may be considered woke for the time, but I still see her not really participating in the day’s activities outside of preparing and cleaning up the picnic for everyone. Maybe she participates in the game and we simply don’t see that. Also, I want to know where they kept those puffy pillows. :)
It’s woke that mom had to set up all the food and blankets while dad and the kids played? And then she has to be the one to stay awake and drive home?

If you read the artist description in another comment, it’s not very woke at all. She goes through all that and explicitly doesn’t feel troubled or worn out, she’s just deeper in love with them all because of all her chores.
That’s what I thought, but sadly, no. Another commenter shared this quote from the artist’s website: “…Mother doesn’t reflect that a woman’s work is never done; what she does think is, They’re my babies, including the old batter-out here beside me, and I love taking care of them all.” Looks like it’s a quote by someone else, not the artist, but it seems the artist accepted this depiction of his work.
