Candlekeep is a world famous library, and should be a destination for every scholar.
Oh yeah definitely, all sorts of craziness could transpire there
Forever DM who hasn't played in a few years and just need to bounce some ideas off people so not to spoil anything for my players. Going to have a party of 3 at least, perhaps up to 6. They range in experience but all have a decent amount of RPG or d&d experience. I don't want to straight play Ravnica, but I plan on implementing stuff like the Guilds and lifestyles but the players being separated in schools of magic rather than Izzet, Simic, etc.

Was going to suggest Candlekeep as well, if you're down that region it's very close to Baldur's Gate.
Waterdeep has Blackstaff Tower that is supposed to have a magic school in it. I remember the book for Dragon Heist mentioning it a little bit but I don't think there was a ton of detail. Other sources might have more info, or you could use that as a good jumping off point for some homebrew lore.
Yeah not a ton of information I'm seeing besides some history, but that could certainly work as a FR equivalent to use, just gotta make some stuff up for the magic school.
