Yesterday I found a fishing spot near a dam in Romania where my friend caught Perch, Catfish and Pike at the same time while I was fishing (Which is pretty much unheardoff in a wild spot in my country) on a single simple spinner bait, however I have caught none of these and only 1 little perch in 4 hours, could it be because of this leader? I have it on since I came looking for Asp and I kept it on because I was afraid a pike could get stuck with my lure in his mouth after cutting my thin mono. What do you guys think and also what do you recommend
Can’t speak on perch or catfish, but I know for sure pike don’t care about the leader. I use thick black steel leader and catch plenty of pike. What lures/bait were you guys using?
My friend was using somethis like this lure white with red dots and I fished on every lure I've had lol
You should switch to the setup your friend was using. That leader looks very thick to me.
Toothy fish sometimes bite and may cut line.
I use very thin wire leaders and it hasn't stopped perch from biting. Most fish don't care about the leader except for like trout.
It's a very thick leader, some fish may be weary but most will hit it imo. What spoon was your friend using? Maybe it was better suited for the water there.
