I never been to concerts but I've probably seen some either on TV, radio, documentaries or whatever. I never expect live versions to sound exactly like the studio versions but I'm sure there are some that sound better than others and more like the studio versions than others.
I was recently going through old Cream stuff. Though mostly the studio recordings but I went through some live versions. 2 for Sunshine Of Your Love. Both Jack Bruce and Eric Clapton shared the lead in the song. Jack sounded awful though Eric I think sounded better. There's even a film clip of them singing "I'm So Glad."
Another was "Tales Of Brave Ulysses." Clapton did even sound like he was playing well in this one.
Don't know if there was a reason why Jack sounded so bad in these and if that's how it was during the Cream years.
