Iruka and Kakashi I view more of an older brother
For me Jiraya was Naruto’s parental figure. Kakashi filled an uncle role. And Iruka an older brother you can always lean on
So who do y'all think takes this?
Iruka and Kakashi I view more of an older brother
For me Jiraya was Naruto’s parental figure. Kakashi filled an uncle role. And Iruka an older brother you can always lean on
I think Iruka is very underrated, man. A lot of people will choose Jiraiya but Iruka was the father he never had.
This, I agree so much. No disrespect to jiraiya. He was a father figure to naruto nonetheless. But Iruka, that man was the first ever to recognize him, the first to support him whenever he wasn't well. Iruka was the one to attend Naruto's wedding as the father figure. (Yes, I know, jiraiya couldn't) And lets not forget his role when Naruto went to bee's island to train. Their connection is extremely emotional As much as I love jiraiya, he was more like an extremely close godfather. The sensei who could bring him to new heights and really show him "the path" In the end, they both are father figures. Just different ones. Kakashi... Nahh, he's more like the cool uncle who showed him a trick or two 😂 (Not looking for any debates, it's just my opinion)
I feel iruka is more a big brother to naruto
Iruka was there from the very beginning when almost no one else was. That early support hits different.
Iruka
How about all of them because I love each character so much it's hard to determine 😭
I think Iruka and Jiraiya were father figures and Kakashi was more like a Big Brother.
In the anime. Naruto asked Iruka to stand in as his father at his wedding. Doesn't get anymore clear than that.
Yeah cause Jiyarya was fucking dead
Asuma was the father figure that Naruto never had and who he needed the most.
For me it's Iruka Jiraiya trained Naruto, Kakashi guided him as a sensei but Iruka was the first person who made Naruto feel loved and acknowledged Without Iruka, I'm not sure Naruto becomes the person he eventually is
I feel this as well. Although I would say Naruto is who he is not only because of iruka, but also because of kakashi and jiraiya. Jiraiya taught Naruto never to give up in the face of adversity. Kakashi taught Naruto never to give up on his friends. Iruka taught Naruto never to give up on himself and to love himself no matter what. They all taught him valuable lessons, so all three of them are father figures to him.
I mean B even says that he saw Iruka in Naruto's heart after Naruto has control of Kyuubi's chakra.
Without iruka Naruto probably never passes the academy... Food for thought
Iruka as father, Jiraiya as mentor, and Kakashi as brother
Jiraiya isn’t a good role model at all. He was a good mentor for learning new ninjutsu, but he was a terrible person and was very misogynistic. Would Naruto have viewed him as a father figure if he had survived? Yes. Should he have? No, not in my opinion.
i dont think kakashi is on the same league as the other two , as for Jiraiya lets not forget he was absent for almost all of naruto life when iruka was the only one present for naruto. Jiraiya is very important for naruto like a grandfather or a uncle but i would say without iruka naruto would had fallen to the dark side and be even more miserable than he was as kid. So its iruka for me.
Exactly. Kakashi’s not anywhere close to the other 2
Iruka: Father Figure/Older Brother Kakashi: Cool Uncle Jiraya: Grandpa
Kakashi: I care about all my students! Also Kakashi: refuses to train Naruto or Sakura properly for most of the series, focusing on training mostly Sasuke, who then vanishes.
He trains Naruto later but also realizes Jiraiya is a far better teacher than he will ever be and a more knowledgeable person about the Jinchuriki. He does train Naruto in Shippuden. He chose Sasuke to train because he is the only one in the leaf with one and also knew that if he didn't guide sasuke well, he would turn evil in revenge. I can't really defend him not teaching Sakura lmaooo
*Earlier that day…* Kakashi: I don’t care for Sakura.
Iruka is an older brother, kakashi is an uncle and Jiraya is dad
Not Hiruzen, that much is clear
Iruka talk-no-jutsu Naruto in the first episode, imprinted on him, and taught Naruto his most powerful Jutsu.
Jiraiya will always have more of a mentor vibe than a father figure, in my opinion! Because even in a scenario where Minato is alive, Jiraiya would still feel like the same mentor he was to orphan Naruto. That said, I think Iruka fits better in the father role here! Kakashi feels more like a great older brother.
Jiraiya was the one who took him along for 3 years and taught him his biggest secrets. Iruka and Kakashi are just his teachers, and Kakashi can barely even be called that. Might as well be asking whether Sakura was closest to Tsunade or Kakashi.
Re-watching now and honestly FUCK Kakashi. He's a bum when it comes to Naruto.
Iruka, without a doubt. Naruto didn't ask him to stand in as his father at his wedding for no reason.
Jiraiya hands down. He was his godfather
Iruka, he understands naruto as he himself lost his parents. Then of course as his first teacher understood his weakness and how to build on them. Kakashi was there for naruto as a teacher to but he doesn't connect with naruto as much because he is a bit sheltered about connections and emotions. Jeralt is hard to say, from what we saw he was a great mentor but in the beginning didn't seem to care much. And then they spent about 2 or 3 years together in which we didn't see. So yeah I'd say Iruka Jiraiya then kakashi Granted age wise Iruka would be more like an older brother

Iruka ❤
Naruto himself sees Iruka as a father figure, he says so in the manga during the first fight against Sasuke and then asks him to be his father at his wedding.
I always thought of iruka the father, jiraiya the godfather, and kakashi the uncle. All of them were sensei’s but all of them had those feelings to me too.
Iruka. Kakashi was like a big brother. Jiraiya was his true teacher. Not saying there's no love but they had these missions/goals with naruto were iruka felt like just a parent figure.
"Will you attend the ceremony as my father" Percy sage was more like a grandpa that took the responsibility of a teaching his teenage grandkid how to be a man
Father figure Iruka Godfather jiraiya mentor and predecessor Kakashi
I think Kakashi needs to sit outta this discussion hes more like an older brother even if hes older then iruka hes gotta keep naruto in check but especially in shipuden reconizes naruto as a peer, Iruka was there most of narutos childhood and tried to be that support chain which was awesome and Jiriya was more silly with naruto and knew his dad personally and passed on his fathers jutsu to naruto i think he would be my pico but both options are great
Iruka himself said he sees Naruto as his little brother, but he's obviously the father figure Naruto always needed. He even gave him away at his wedding, it doesn't get more fatherly than that. Kakashi isn't even in this conversation, Jiraiya only is because he's Naruto's "name parent" and looked after him for two years while outside the village.
I think the question is answered by Naruto himself considering he ask Iruka to stand in as his father for his wedding.
When no one got Naruto, the GOAT Teuchi of Ichiraku Ramen got Naruto. Believe it! (lol)
Iruka = StepDad Kakashi = Mentor Jiraiya = Grandfather Imo.
Iruka & Jiraiya.
Not kakashi.
Iruka is an older brother, Jiraiya... some sort of Grand uncle or something. And Kakashi an uncle/brother too. Like, they were all strong male role models in his life, but none of them were father figures honestly
iruka is his older brother, kakashi is like an uncle and pervy sage is his dad. ig imo
Iruka was the first to recognize Naruto as a real person, rather than just the host of the Nine-Tails. And at the end of the anime, Naruto himself asks Iruka to attend the wedding as his father.
Iruka was the daddy to Naruto Jiraiya was the best grandfather
Iruka always felt like an older brother. Jiraiya felt like his father and Kakashi his sensei.
No contest, Iruka. dude accepted him, bought him food and raised him to be a decent adult since 7 or 8. Jiraiya is more of a cool uncle that could do weird shit with his hair that you don’t want to emulate if you have morals and Kakashi is like a big brother to Naruto.
Ichiraku Ramen Guy, and it's not even close.
Y’all tripping in here. Jiraiya raised that boy. Iruka was around his whole damn life and it wasn’t until somebody tried to use him did he even overcome his distrust of Naruto. Jiraiya never had nothing but love and support for that boy. Took him out the village and taught him how to be a person. Naruto lost control and beat Jiraiya like a 3 legged mule and he still stuck with him and kept training him. It’s Jiraiya.
the thing that seals it, for me, is in the last episode (or like next to last): Naruto goes to Iruka before the wedding and is like hey, let's go get drunk and meet girls and have fun! or whatever. and iruka yells at him about it and says no. and it's only after this that Naruto asks him to be his father; because that's what a GOOD dad would do. I interpret it as Naruto testing Iruka, rather than actually wanting to do that. Idk I have a lot of feelings about the scene, and Iruka is one of my favorite characters from the show
Iruka, hands down.
Iruka by far since he’s the one Naruto sees as a father figure. He’s the only one of the three who had no sort of obligation or reason to help Naruto yet did it anyways Jiraiya’s like an uncle or something and Kakashi’s just a teacher
Iruka, but gotta shout-out the real first person to accept Naruto as a good kid and not a monster and who helped provide for him like an uncle and that is the ramen guy.
Iruka is a father or older-brother-type of guy. Kakashi is like an older brother who is lazy and doesn't help much. Jiraiya is a grandfather-type guy.
Iruka mentored him from the start even when his own parents were killed by the Ninetails. He takes an almost fatal blow from a massive blade to the spine to protect Naruto. Iruka is the goat in my book.
Has to be Iruka. Jiraiya is meh and I still remember how he took Naruto’s wallet and spent all of his hard-earned money. He’s more like an annoying and sleazy uncle or grandfather.
Jiraiya - grandpa figure Iruka - father figure Kakashi - uncle
It’s takes a village… but I’d take Iruka. He had such an impact on Naruto’s young life….
No debate it’s iruka. Yes jiraiya taught him for a bit but he got most of his life lessons from iruka. As well as the first time he was effectively recognized as a shinobi of the leaf
Iruka- father Jiraya - grandpa Kakashi - cool unc
Iruka for sure. He was the first adult in the village to see and recognize Naruto as a fellow human and member of the leaf and not just as the vessel for the Nine-tails or a demon. Iruka also gave Naruto his headband, one of the biggest moments in Naruto’s life and his first real step toward becoming the Hokage. Kakashi is more like an uncle or a teacher in a literal sense - and even then I use that teacher term loosely. He didn’t really train Naruto in much. But he did find other people to train him like Ebisu and Asuma. So although he didn’t do much directly for Naruto, he was able to help Naruto get better and become a more skilled Shinobi. Jirayai is more like a grandfather. jirayai trained Minato up and would be more like a father figure to Minato than Naruto. No doubt that Jirayai and Naruto were extremely close though.
It's Jiraiya, they spent the most time together (but offscreen) and were the most similar.
Iruka by virtue of being their for Naruto his whole life since childhood.
Definitely iruka. Naruto himself says the only people who recognized him is sasuke and iruka lol. I think jiraiya is more like granddad like how tsunade is grandma
Iruka. Kakashi primary focus was just Sasuke and Jiraya only was interested in Naruto after Naruto begged to be trained by him. Iruka BLED for that kid. Iruka IS his father!
I think jiraiya is more of the fun uncle type kakashi is the older brother and iruka is more of the dad
Jiraiya
Iruka is the only father figure Naruto had. Jiraiya was like his grandpa and Kakashi was like his older brother or quite literally his sensei.
Iruka is the dad, Jiraiyah is the funny grandad you actually like spending time with when he’s in town & kakashi is the chill uncle/big brother
[removed]
Kakashi Didn't even try. Jiraiya is more like the "cool" uncle that ypu shouldn't let your kids with for a prolonged amount of time. And Iruka IS the father.
Only one was asked to act as his father in the wedding
Iruka The two others are not father they are sensei
Kakashi.
Iruka for sure
[removed]
Iruka is his big brother figure, Jiraiya is his grandfather figure, and Kakashi is his dear teacher and mentor
Flowers to Iruka for being there first. Tho the other 2 are are great too
Iruka for sure. Then jiraya Then kakashi
