    Thank you! It’s so hard to find a team at least deciding where to go haha I do want to be more with a competitive team since ill get back into open water racing and maybe normal comps I’ll try check out this list though! Thanks!

  I’m a big fan of Swim Devils if you’re close to Tempe or Scottsdale. Best thing to do though is just to drop in (email coaches and introduce yourself when you show up) and give it a try. I am sure PSC is also great.

    Sorry I should have noted this in my intial post I will be in citrus park area I would LOVE to go to Tempe area but that would be a drive haha maybe the Scottsdale one might be easier it’s about 40 minutes or so which is not too bad but I’ll have to see over time how much of a hassle this will be during rush hour for the training times I can make

  I lived in Arizona for 20 years, but don't live there anymore. There have been groups that started masters (and other) swim teams in Goodyear at least 4-5 times that I can remember, but they don't seem to last. Maybe since this is connected with Phoenix Swim Club it will do better. I swam with Phoenix Swim Club briefly, but at their original location (that I think has been torn down), with Sun Devil Masters at ASU for about 12 years, and with Mesa Aquatic Masters for about 6 years. And I swam with Hillenbrandt in Tucson (at UofA) for a year too, so I guess I've done the full circuit. My experiences are that Phoenix, ASU, and MAC are all very similar programs. I'd go with the one that is closest to you. The best chance of going is the one you only have to drive 5-10 minutes to get to. If the ASU group still uses Mona for evening workouts, definitely drop in a workout sometime (Mona has a proper chilling system, so the water stays cool, even in summer). That said, for open water, I would (and did) swim at least once or twice a week on my own outside of masters workouts. There are groups that swim in the area lakes pretty regularly (nearly every weekend, usually both Sat-Sun). If you're not in the AZ Open Water Facebook group, let me know. Some of those folks should be able to help give some advice on which masters program would be best for you. All of the masters programs are primarily geared toward racing in meets. I've developed some health issues that I just can't do that anymore (but I can swim long open water events).

    Thanks for your input! Are there any teams you recommend checking out that is closer on the west end? I’ll be in citrus park area so Goodyear would essentially be closest. But I don’t mind driving a bit further just to have a good team to swim with! I would love to get back into open competition or maybe even the usual pool meets
