It doesn't, it has been capped at 50 for as long as i know I have been completing all badges since around march of last year and it never went above 50 50 was the limit
Duolingo badges scale as per the person, so- a guy might only need to do 15 quests. Before, the cap was 50, but this is ridiculous.

Honestly why do you care about any of these stuff. I have turned my profile private and all I do is trying to learn the language of my choice. Forget the rest and do the same.
It's been 60 max for a couple of months. It really depends on the person and the time they spend on the app, but for me it's doable.
I've done every friend quest, every daily quest, and never used a streak freeze for around 3 years and I still only have 50 for my monthly badge. If anyone would be given 60, you'd think it'd be me because I finish the monthly quest as early as physically possible every month, but I don't. I think it's random.
Mine was originally a goal of 50 and I almost got to it, and then it switched to 60 on me 😭😭😭 I made it luckily but it was very annoying!

This is the first week it has been 60 for me and I get all 3 dailies, friend quest and weekend quest consistently. My streak is almost 1900 days. Duo tends to roll things out kind of weird and not all at once.

60 quests for a badge is just another way to keep you glued to the screen longer
Mine went up to 60 in June. It still gives you plenty of time. Now I complete it by the 15th-18th or so instead of around the 12th-15th. It all depends on the timing of the weekend and friends quests. But I am still finishing around the middle of the month.
Ok, so you made me look. I had been at 50, but it just went up for me to 60 today. No big deal. I tend to earn these by accident, and I don't work to get them. Even still, I've been doing 50 by the middle of the month just based upon my learning time. This would only add a few extra days.
I just got this as well. They must be trying to force the friend and weekend quests. I don’t have energy some days to get all three daily quests.
You only need to do two quests a day to reach 60 in a month.
I've been doing 60 for some while. It's partially offset by the additional 4 you can get for the weekend quests.

I got just to earn 40 in new account and 60 in old account. The quest points are based on activeness and streak I guess

Mine went to 60 as well, I’m bummed. I’ve been using “Words” to help me complete the monthly badges as I don’t always have time to do multiple full lessons at one time. Without “Words” it’s going to be hard to make it…plus all my friends are inactive or barely active so it makes it hard to also complete friends quests alone.

Not at all, you just need to learn how to play the game.
I earned six today, and may be able to get more. If u have iPhone, computer and android device connected to the same account, you can get as many as nine per day. Even on one account, I always finish three per day which gets me well past 60 in a month. Use the practice hub.
Why do you care about pointless, worthless "collectables"? If your priority is not language learning, I'd question why you use the app.

Chess matches count as lessons.
I can usually clear this just after the middle of the month. If you have more than 1 course going, check the requirements for each one. I usually find the chess course has a replacement quest to do, even after I've done the other 3 daily ones.

I got 60 last month. finished it with at least a week to spare. but also: they’re optional. the app will not explode if you don’t complete them.

You earn several a day by completing the tasks. Typically I'm done mid-month. Between your tasks and any friend quests... And I think some of those you get multiple points for, it's no big deal. Don't be bummed out by the number learn for learning sake. Do you really remember whether or not you got the award 3 months ago? What matters is your progress anyway

I got 6 quest point for doing three quests on 8/1. So maybe there is something else going on.
I've had that for about a year. I think they based the number on how much you interacted with the app the past month.
Complete the 3 tasks & it’s 20 days. August has 31 days.

Been at 60 so it’s like 2 missions a day and for me that’s doable since majority of the time it’s 2-3 lessons/XP and then maybe 10-15 minutes of learning where I just wait before putting in the final answer

Am I missing something? It’s 3 points a day so 90 points a month. 2/3 of the max to get the badge. Is this… impossible in some way? To me it’s super easy

It’s definitely harder if leaderboards are turned off and you can’t do friend quests. You now need 2/3 of all daily quest points available. Some are also impossible as they require leaderboards turned on… Go figure.
60 is so ez. Just do all 3 quests on 20 days. If you don‘t want that there are also friend quests and the weekend quests who give you points. And at the end it‘s just an „achievement“ on profile.
Three a day plus some friends quests and it's less than 20 days. Doesn't seem ridiculous to me at all.

The just upped me to sixty, an extra few days, but annoying
I personally wish they would stop scaling up so much with the quests, regardless of whether they're doable or not. I'm not here for that much of a challenge, just for fun, so I'd rather the obligation for the badges remain nominal. To be clear, I've consistently been in the top 1% of users for the past couple of years, and im a few days away from a 3,000 day streak without ever using a freeze, and have completed a number of courses, so this likely will be a cakewalk still. It's just every time the numbers go up, it feels more like an obligation and less like relaxing fun.
It's fine. If they want to discourage me from trying to get points, good for them. No fucking way I'm going out of my way to earn points for a reward that I'll pretty much definitely not get anyways.

Ya, I missed my July badge by 10 points. After 3 years of getting badges. I think I’m going to just stop if it increases anymore.

I had 41/45 for the July badge yesterday. I did a few lessons just for fun and it said I got the badge. I cracked up. It's nonsense.
60 is literally only getting 2 quest points/day. So 2 of 3 goals... OR add in some friends/weekend quests.

That's the highest it goes. It's dependent on how much you use the app. If you do ask three quests per day, you'll finish about halfway through the month.

You got points for completing the weekend challenge as well. And if you do each challenge including weeks should hit 50 by 12-14day. For anyone one wondering, and leaves 15 days or so to get 10 more quest points.
I don't get all the complains. I usually get the badge in the middle of the month. I just log in, do the three tasks and then leave. I combine Spanish with Chess, so maybe it's easier this way, but I honestly don't understand what the big deal is.
I think it depends on your level. The months I accomplish the badge the following month goes higher. One month I slacked and it went back to 40. I picked up and it's been at 60 a few months now. I've been waiting the last week of July for the August challenge. I think it knows what we're capable of and pushes us. Either way I'm not as antsy as I used to be about it. It doesn't matter if I make it.
I have a streak of about 750 and never had less than 60. I'm just finding out they sometimes give less 🙃

Yeah, that's pretty annoying. It's doable, of course -- You can get it by the twentieth if you complete all the daily quests, sooner with friends quests and weekend quests (assuming they don't douche you out of the reward for the weekend ones and just give you gems or something), but it's annoying. Fifty was bad enough, and honestly it's a bad system to begin with: they should go back to making it a certain number of XP, so you can get it out of the way quickly and go back to just using it like normal.
I completed the three challenges today and it gave me credit for six for some reason.
