Day 5 of sobriety. I only quit because I got CHS. I felt like I was dying and had to go through it practically alone, too embarrassed / ashamed to let anyone know what was happening.
As my CHS symptoms come and go in waves, in between bouts I am left alone with my feelings. And I am reminded what drove me to start this habit 11 years ago.
I suffer with anxiety and depression, PTSD and I am autistic. And that’s only the mental illnesses. Life has been and can be very difficult but I have been in therapy for years and have seen improvements. However a general dissatisfaction with life resulted in my normal becoming being high all day every day. That was until CHS showed up.
I know it has to be different now but I don’t have a support network to talk to about this and I feel like the darkness is seeping in. The emotional pain is becoming debilitating and the grief is overwhelming.
I feel very alone in all of this. I am worried that when my CHS symptoms completely go I will turn back to THC. I am already having thoughts of consuming it again.
I guess what I am looking for is some reassurance that it does get better and I can do this. And if you have any advice to give me the best chance at making this work? Even if you don’t, thank you for taking the time to read this
