It's been mentioned before, but this type of surgery has a 9-12 month recovery, so if he'd had surgery in the off-season he would likely have still missed the entirety of the year. It's likely they tried to do a rest/treatment approach hoping to avoid surgery.

PCL issues seem to be for the nfl what hamstring issues are for the nba. Double or triple the amount of recovery time they initially say and then add a year of not being 100% + super high reinjury rates.
Dalton Kincaid has been dealing with a PCL for like two seasons now. It's so incredibly frustrating of an injury. If Pearsall is getting it operated on, I wish him luck on the surgery/recovery.
