About six months ago, I rescued a Sun Conure from a really bad situation who seems to be very traumatized. He came missing feathers and has not been able to grow them back. He bites a lot and hard enough to draw blood. I’ve only ever owned cockatiels and they have always been hand raised and sweet. I am way over my head here and am considering just finding him a new home, but who would buy a bird that bites? I am open to any advice.
Yeaaa he needs an experienced bird keeper. Training might help, maybe start with target and continue from there. Birdtricks on YouTube has a lot of videos about them working with troubled parrots. But if he’s too much for you, I’d try speaking to a rescue near you even if it’s a bit out of your way. He deserves a good life. Your heart is in the right place
