Which one do you think has a stronger technique, Hanon or Beringer? For years I've used Hanon, but now I'm open to the possibility of opting for Beringer. However, I was wondering which has the most difficult exercises and which one is better to improve my skills. Obviously, I'm not just talking about the five finger exercises (the first ones), but also double third, octaves, chormatics and so on. So it's also a matter of variety for each category, not just difficulty.

You get technique from moving properly, not from moving more improperly. If you move improperly you are just hardwiring into muscle memory the improper movement. That said, I favor Beringer for the variety of patterns and changes.
Yeah, I assumed the movement was performed correctly in both cases. Anyway, thanks for the suggestion!
I'd throw them both out and learn technique from real music. above a certain level, that's what my teachers instructed me and I think they were right.
So, for example, you mean etudes, right? It's not that I don't do them (like Chopin's or Gradus), but I still have to do this "lower level" technique to warm up hands (at least this is what I've been thaught so far, maybe in the future I'll have to get rid of them too).
