We got racks. Rest of team agreed to back off, but our Spectre decides to fight, which resulted in whole team dying, and we lost the game because of this.
Then I look at Spectre's neutral items...how is he Legend 2 🤦♂️

dota plus always suggests it, same with the gloves. they prob ignore neutral items and just take the suggestions
I wonder why the Devs made it that way. Surely they know T2-T4 items are better than T1

There have been times where I have been offered: Vest, Gloves, Bracelet, Dice Seeds, Signet, Mana, Shell Slinger, Brand, Headband, Jidi As a right clicker.
Mana is good depending on the hero, headband is always useful if you dont have anything better.
Jidi seems good on any melee hero?
a different neutral item would change the racks push play decision making? dota players love picking an ally to blame every loss on spectre could have lost you the game but nitpicking and pinning it on neutral item choices is far from it lol spectre isnt the best hero for this neutral but holding the same neutral through tiers isnt unheard of. dota's biggest usp is there is nothing is cookie cutter and you certainly have the flexibility to not take a new neutral item.
Yep losses and wins are multifactorial and depend on everyone, but people like to blame one person or one specific item choice. That could have made the difference, but you're probably also ignoring hundreds of other mistakes and bad decisions.
Your carry should be coming into the fight with a 15k gold advantage, so neutral items don’t matter. Unless your carry isn’t carrying right.
Had an Immortal lvl 27 Slardar mid yesterday who did the same thing. Dude was 100% boosted/acct buyer based on the way he played though (private profile, last medal seen on dotabuff was Ancient 3).

i am an returning player, played my first games yesterday after 1 1/2 years, took the dota plus suggested neutral items. they where everytime the tier1 + ugrade

Dota plus just suggests the neutral item, you the player should decide if it's the best item or if there's a better item in your current situation

All I see is "my spectre did a bad call, and we decided to throw with him instead of using our own 200iq powerhouse of a head and letting the fool die alone, so maybe we can defend after without him. Plot twist then we try to nitpick his items maybe we feel better about ourselves" sons and daughters, if a teammate says I JUMPPP without a bit of prep in unfavourable moments of the game, LET THE FOOL DIE ALONE, If you join, you agree and sign to lose the game so its Spectre fault + yours so losing is normal

he’s legend because that’s the skill in legend lol. You can and should easily climb out with the right mindset shift and decisions.
A lot of people are in too high of a bracket honestly. To be fair like not backing when the rest of the team backs isn’t the craziest thing in the world, but yeah, just ignoring neutral items is kind of crazy.

To be honest if the whole team decides to back off and that one dude decide to face Jesus let em. I won many games the team realised there was one kamikaze among us and we just played a separate game and won (with much effort when the kamikaze was our carry) but I won many games like that. It is not fun but at some point you just have to realise you're playing 4v6.

Because of the latest MMR updates. All the archons are now Ancients I would imagine. You can have 50% win rate and still reach Ancient 5 if you just keep playing

You should look at the match history and determine if that guy is even a carry player normally. It's likely this a support player who had to play carry for role queue tokens and then was overwhelmed and so just picked the same thing over and over so they didn't have to think about it, or were just following the highest % suggestion assuming that was suggested for a good reason. Role queue leads to these stupid games where your teammates look like account buyers
