Hello everyone! Our beautiful son is now 6 months (sleep regression gremlin but developing so many awesome skills)
Since he was born we've been using a breathing monitor for safety (clips to the front of his diaper and goes off if the abdomen stops moving). However, he's been rolling over in his sleep and likes to sleep on his stomach a lot.
We've tried keeping the monitor on him but it'll shift in sleep if he rolls and will go off waking us all up. Some nights though it'll stay in place and should work even when rolled over, but it sticks out a little and definitely doesn't seem like the most comfortable thing for him on his stomach.
Should we ditch the monitor at this point? We've leaned towards that but can't help but feel anxious about it.
We'd love to hear from others on when they ditched breathing monitors etc

This was our suspicion, simply fueling anxiety and having false flag beeps with it shifting. If we're past majority risk of SIDs that is all the more reason. Thank you.
There is no evidence that breathing monitors work as advertised or prevent SIDS. So with something like that I think of it as, “can’t hurt, might help.” If it makes parents feel better, then sure why not use it? However, for you guys the monitor seems to be causing more trouble than it’s helping now that your baby is older, so I would ditch it without a second thought.
