Honestly storage isn’t as big of a deal as people say. Just get an external SSD drive. Hopefully you have 4 ports and 16 GB of RAM though
Hello everyone,
I bought an iMac M4 and I feel like I'm not exploiting it to its full potential.
I mainly wonder which applications are really worth it on macOS and which uses would you advise me. At the moment, I feel like I'm missing a lot of things.
My only regret is that I took a model with little storage. I would have liked to have more, but I didn't really have a choice. I'm not very familiar with computer science, so I don't know if some limits come from storage, RAM or something else.

This is ridiculous, you want to run apps that load the laptop more so that you will feel better? Use it for what you intended it for.
Ah, but no, not at all, I don't want to overload it. I'm just looking for applications that could be useful.

Start playing around with Codex or Claude Code and have fun building some stuff.
We really need to know what you plan to do with it. Storage isn't an issue on a desktop. Tell us what you would like to do/study/create.
Super simplification of RAM and memory, or what was called ROM. Think RAM is like the counter space in a kitchen you work in. ROM is the cupboards. You can have lots of cupboards full of equipment and supplies, but if there is not enough counter space to work on, then you can only use one thing at a time, just the mixer and not the coffee maker. This was how I explained it to the teachers who were getting computers for the first time back in the old days.
