If there is a fire ban and the Fire brigade came out in my area it would be a massive Fine up to 5,000 dollars.
I don't think there is a fire ban right now, but I'd be interested to know how they dealt with it.

$5k not nearly enough of a fine.
In our area you can just call the fire department if someone has an outside fire and there is a fire ban. No reason to wait.
28,000 in Nova Scotia :D
The 15 yo boy who started the Eagle Creek Fire with fireworks in the Columbia River Gorge almost 9 years ago was fined an incredible amount of money. He had the make regular monthly payments, but I think that if he doesn’t miss a payment he’ll have the debt declared paid at 10 years from the start of paying. It burned historic park buildings, 50,000 acres, filled Portland with smoke week after week. It took 3 months to burn out, with some hot spots still found 9 months afterward. At least he had the excuse of being a teenager for making a stupid decision. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eagle\_Creek\_Fire
