I'm a British South Asian woman living in London and a primary school teacher. At first, I enjoyed it but over time, the lack of work-life balance and depressing UK winter led to severe burnout and mental stress so I quit.

I've been to Thailand solo twice since last summer and really fell in love with the place. I've been dreaming of going back since I returned in February and it's all I think about. I will be going back again soon for 3 months while teaching online. In that time, I was thinking about whether to apply for international schools there as teachers say that the workload and class sizes are a lot more manageable with better pay as opposed to ESL teaching.

A lot of my friends have either moved away other the years and my family is quite toxic and religious. The thought of a woman moving abroad is crazy to them so I would have to do this without telling them. Home life isn't the best as my dad can be very controlling and verbally abusive so I really don't want to continue living at home when I come back from this extended trip.

I've been out of full-time work this year trying to recover from how the last job scarred me and have been feeling lost. I did some volunteering and am now teaching English online (TEFL qualified but don't have stable income). After travelling, I realised I really want to experience life abroad at least once in my life but I'm worried about it long-term. I want to settle down some day, get married and have a family but friendships and relationships in Thailand seem a bit transient as everyone moves around after a few years..

What advice would you give to me? I have never lived alone but frequently travel solo.
Would it be wise to move to Thailand or try another country? I really don't want to live in London anymore because of the high cost of living, housing crisis, bad weather, crime etc. I've been to Korea and Japan but I can't imagine living there like how I can with Thailand.

you went to Thailand as a tourist, prolly with your UK Pound, but that's not the resl picture. its not a peact, good country for its citizens. What exactly would be your earning and how much strong is Thai Baht. what could you buy with that. The house, Car, Air Conditioning. Traveling and Living is totally different. Also the Crime and Society

get a secure, mid to high paying Job. Save some money, be financially independent and secure. then you can move into a Good Country. A country where finances aren't a big issue and no or very less crime. You can move to Ireland or Iceland or Australia,New Zealand. Maybe Canada even if you can work with Low Temps and Snow
