man, i get the whole "proximity friends" thing... had a crew from the shop i’d hit the bar with every friday, right? then the divorce hit, weekends became kid-time, and suddenly...
Hello, it's me again after, what, 7 years?
These past years I've been distancing myself from my spiritual core and I've started feeling empty and meaningless again. I know a lot happened, but I also know that my desire for inner peace is still somewhere there. I live in a south american country with heavy economic problems and we have a fucking psychopath as a president, I don't have a job and haven't had one in a while, I've started doing drugs more often and lost track of what's really important :(
I met someone special and I feel it's a good moment for exploring meditation again. Apart from practice - what's a good reading you'd recommend for a moment like this? I miss being a spiritual person but I feel it's just so fucking hard in this context. It's so sad to watch and experience.
Any advice is welcome <3 This sub has helped me a lot through quarantine

Maybe check out the named below if you haven't read them already
They're all (tibetan) buddhist, but pretty easy to read and good to start with
That’s a good list. You ever read any Ken McLeod books?
Siddartha by Herman Hesse has been this book for me at different moments in my life. Easy read and “westernized” to an extent. But very centering.
Tolle’s A New Earth
You Are The Answer by Michael Tamura
Recommend The Nature of Personal Reality by Jane Roberts.
You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay
I’ve recently started read “The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali” and would recommend it
Read 'The Benefits of Reiki Healing'. It's a small book which beautifully shows how your life can transform and how you can make consistent spiritual progress.
I recommend Letting Go by David R. Hawkins. It might help you process difficult emotions with more ease through your meditation and spirituality practice.
Transurfing Vadim Zelandi
How does this have anything to do with spirituality?
Relationships are the best meditation. Love is even more potent than meditation. You are always spiritual, even when taking a shit.
