Forster care is being adopted I thought
Foster parents are paid to feed, clothe and house a an orphan. Some truly care about the kids. Some just want the money and are abusive or neglectful.
No that’s adoption. Foster care’s goal is reunification. If reunification is not possible then the goal is adoption.
It’s like halfway to adoption. The kids live with an unrelated family, but their birth parents still have legal rights to them, and they may go back to their birth family eventually.
An orphanage is where children who have not been adopted stay. It is an institution and not an individual home. Foster care is based out of individual's homes where a temporary guardian is assigned.
Kids being fostered are still typically trying to be placed back in their home as the best outcome. The state has taken them away but is still trying to give them the opportunity to get them back.
Orphanages are institutions where all the kids live together in a dormitory setup, foster care is putting the kids in family homes. When foster care works as intended, it’s much better for the child’s development and ability to integrate into society as an adult, but it requires a lot of oversight to avoid abuse or neglect.

Orphanage is a group home. Children have had parents die or gave up their children permanently and no one the parents can take them into their home to be raised and loved. Foster care is taking in a child in need, temporarily, until the child is returned back to the parent or people wanting to adopt come forward Often if the biological parents decide to give their child for whatever reasons. The foster parent(s) and child may have bonded , so fosters may decided to adopt and welcome the child or children into their family. Fosters care and/or adoption is such a wonderful gift to give a child or children. ❤️
