Few question on a few plants (scroll pics)

Pic 1: I tried planting cilantro that I bought at the supermarket. Why is most of it dead? It had roots when I bought it.

Pic 2: Why is the succulent so elongated? This southern window gets full sun.

Pic 3: Look at the stem of this nanouk. The stem that is over the lip of its pot. Why is it skinny and dead looking? Yet at the end of the same stem, the growth is nice a full.
