Need advice.

I have a blue ringneck parrot and i rescued him in March, Dogs were gonna attack him I picked him up and healed him . He's very picky eater :( tried giving him pellets he didn't eat .He only likes guava ,mangoes and apples and sunflower seeds . And he's very moody :( idk what's his age though.When I tried to take him out of cage he didn't and even went out while opening the cage's door ,he stayed inside . How can I train him and introduce him to foods?

  Aww she's such a lovely lady 🥹🩷.Plus I'm tryna give him sprouts ,boiled sweet corn and sweet potatoes he ate the corn a bit but then didn't eat sweet potato 😭and if I don't give him his favourite food he screams his lungs out and i have to give him his favourite food in the end. But the things he loves ,his body doesn't probably gets all the nutrients needed for his body :(

Is it tamed in any way? Does your hand scare him? They are very clever birds, but they are moody and usually scared of everything. They can learn quite fast but each one has its own pace. What i learned with my ringneck parrot friend, is that you have to love them for who they are. Surely with time your relationship will improve, i can vouch for that, but it will take time, efforts, and some studying. I will give you some tips from personal experience since i had the most stubborn and scared indian ringneck ever, and i loved our time together and the improvements we made. If he doesnt step up your finger or a perch (they usually are scared of hands), somehow you have to be patient and let him step out of the cage. He has to fly around a bit and blow off some steam! Provide a safe environment, and be ready to lose your mind when you have to put in back in the cage. You will probably have to shoo him back or wait until he gets hungry enough. About the food: usually they eat almost everything, it's in their nature, just be patient, maybe let them learn the food is safe. Use their curiosity: place the pellet inside a foraging toy. As a note: sunflower seeds should be mixed with other small seed, because sunflowers are very fat and too many are bad for the liver. Just get a mix at least, it's better than just sunflowers. The fact he eats fruit and vedgetables is good. They are moody, yes, one moment they are doing funny sounds and coming to you, the next are screeching away or biting. Welcome to parrots! It's the fun part: they're a bit crazy and unpredictable, they'll do the dumbest thing ever and cheer you up with their goofyness. Embrace chaos, don't fight it (of course within reason). Remember: food is the way to the heart of every being. To train him or simply to interact with him you will have to let them accept food from you. Slowly you can build a relationship, he will come to you because he sees you as a friend. Don't give up, he is a lovely bird, take good care of him and he will show gratefulness (in his crazy way).   Oo well I will definitely try ..!! Sometimes he takes treats example sunflower seeds from my hands and goes away quickly,he even takes chillies ..!! But the thing is that I want to take him out of him cage which he doesn't do by himself:( And few days he talks a lot and few days he will just be quite . Also i was thinking of giving him a bit bigger cage .

Time is what it takes. Don’t rush him. You’re doing right to leave his cage door open. He will decided to venture out eventually. Let him do it at his pace. My parrot didn’t care for pellets at all. It took at least 9 months of me putting them in the cage before he decided they were good. I threw out perfectly good pellets every three days during that time. A bigger cage is a great idea. The one he is in looks pretty small for a parrot his size. Thanks for saving him. Your heart seems to be in the right place. Keep asking questions and keep reading. It will all come together eventually. Time is your friend.
