Hi, I’d like to ask if there’s anything possible to do about the downvoting in the daily discussion. Perhaps a sticky note to remind people not to be so poophead coded? Or maybe filing a report about vote manipulation? Idk the downvoting is kinda just annoying and discouraging at times, and I’m not sure there’s anything people can do besides upvoting.
The recent surge of complaints about downvotes in the DD is hilarious. It's cliquey and discouraging to non-regulars enough as it is, and now you want to turn away people who disagree with some of the things said there. It's not a private group chat, it's a public forum. Unless the point of the DD is to karma farm, I don't see how this is an issue at all.
I feel kinda bad because I think I might be the one who brought the downvoting to everyone’s attention 😭 but no there’s nothing we can really do about it on our end. Whoever is doing it is probably doing it specifically to bother people so I suggest just ignoring it and maybe they’ll get bored and move on.

Can the ipaper and new york times accounts be banned from posting their articles? ipaper posts tabloid shlock and other users post relevant nyt articles anyway.
I think NYTimes articles here are nice because they're often gift articles and unlocked. Plus, they're a great source of music journalism. I would say any serious music publication should get an exception, honestly, as long as the article is unlocked. Tabloid clickbait trash should be deleted whether it's by the publisher or not. All banning the specific accounts will do is incentivize publishers to bypass on alts and be more covert in their promotion, and I don't see how that helps anyone.

Hello friends, neighbors and the evil HOA board, What’s the official stance on tea time comments that boil down to roughly social media bullshit? In the last few weeks I feel like I’ve seen an uptick in stuff that is just “people on social media are saying…” and then OP doesn’t include links or anything. And we have no way to see if it’s like 4 people saying it or 4,000.
I know we’ve relaxed a lot of stuff to up engagement but I feel like a link to what you’re talking about isn’t too much to ask. At least a screenshot
Does anyone else notice that discussion under latent comments tends to drop off a cliff after a certain time of day?
I’ve enjoyed popheads much more recently so I think things are going relatively well over here. (Much more so than a few other subs I frequent at least!)
