Don't read this article while eating. Parts of it made me feel genuinely nauseous. What a horrible man. And how awful to have in the back of your mind the question about whether something that didn't go to plan with your - or your parent's - surgery might have been because he was enjoying taking his time.
If the hospitals he was involved with don’t close ranks, then murder charges could be next. But like with so many scandals in British public life, families of the victims will need to fight for it.

It always fascinates me how nobody ever has a pop at doctors after cases like this. Or Harold Shipman's. Or Lucy Letbys. Or any of the thousands of other cases where NHS workers have done terrible things to people in their care. Same with teachers. Both these professions seem to be given a pass by most people and these terrible cases are treated as isolated. Whereas all police are tarred when one of their own does anything wrong. Always seemed odd to me.
