Rewatching Naruto part 1 just feels different after knowing what these character have and will go through
Ngl damn near teared up at all these moments and their impact
Haku and Zabuza and Haku just accepting death. Naruto was really gonna kill Haku if he didn’t have to save Zabuza but in doing so shaped Naruto’s perspective on what being a shinobi meant and how they were more than tools just so crazy
The difficulty of the chuunin exams, the struggles between the hyuga and how GAS it was when Naruto defeated Gaara. That match was high diff af and Naruto pulled it off, he’s really the goat.
The death of the third and his impact on everyone in the village. He was really everyone’s grandpa man but what was most interesting is the shot with Sasuke and how even he paid respects to Hiruzen like he could touch the hearts of anyone going through anything. Just seeing Sasuke in the village and following those customs feels different and sad at the same time considering the path he later goes down

If we had a few arcs of more missions of team 7 together and more interactions with other side characters a little bit before the chuunin exams it would’ve been 10/10 addition to the story
Yeah I started rewatching it at work and just got to the Chuunin exams. Haku and Zabuza arc was much better than I remember.
Just finish haku and zabuza arc last night onto to the next episodes the chinim exams.
I’m doing the same, just finished the Forest of Death. Land of Waves Arc will always be one of the best.

I’ve just started a rewatch this weekend. Mid-chunnin in exams: Naruto been training with Jiraya for bout a month now, he throws him off a cliff to tap into the red chakra , Naruto meets Karuma gets some chakra to summon Gunta and survives a day of bucking on his back.
The animation was really well done, then it made a ton of money, and shippuden was still good just different. Kind of how, Family Guy or South Park, turned terrible after 5 seasons Hollywood cashed in on it probably flooded it with interns and people they owed money to But not as bad cus Japan is pretty utopian
Hot take? Part 1 was better than shipudden if you take out the filler.
I have a Samsung tv and the free channels that come with it has a 24/7 Naruto loop with the rock Lee spin off and sometimes movies. When I found out about it I was benign watching nonstop, even to this day I’ll sit down and watch some episodes just for the hell of it.
I'm on my rewatch arc, too. The part where Naruto has his speech to Neji in the finals and Strong and Strike starts to play as he charges the Ninetails chakra had me weeping from kino. So basically what happened last month when I saw Land of Snow again after 20 years... I fucking love this show!
And naruto came out of nowhere deliver a punch to neji's chin🔥
Gonna watch filler? Just watched Land of Tea arc the other day, which was alright. Looking forward to revisiting Village Hidden in the Stars and seeing how it holds up.

what gets me on rewatch is how the zabuza arc basically sets up the whole shows thesis about shinobi being tools. naruto rejects that and then every major villain after is a variation of the same wound - gaara, neji, sasuke, pain, even obito. P1 built the philosophy, shippuden just executed on it. thats why it hits different when you already know where everyone ends up

Watched the Zabuza arc recently. I have watched it plenty of times before. Stil cried. Now I wish we had more exploration arcs for world building.
