I put it outside in the courtyard because I thought it would be nice and I got an angry letter and locked out of all stores for a day
wait does it lock you out? i never knew that
I was just thinking about how much solid gold lewis would need to make a 1 by 1 replica of his gold statue and was reminded of how the only people who can (or are known to) work with smithing/metal are the farmer and clint. So my theory/question is this: Did lewis commision clint to make his statue? And if so, who made the iridium crobus statue??

Only 3 bars worth. Have you seen the size of those bars, they are massive. Don't ask me how it takes 5 to make an axe head. But yeah, I guess it would have been Clint.
i mean my question for clint is: why take my tools if you’re making them out of new material (that I’m giving you, no less)?
I love this train of thought. Prospective. The Lore. The possibilities 🤣🤣
the idea of two of the most hated non-dateable npcs (until 1.6 at least!) being shady business partners was pretty funny
Somebody did some maths on this in the sub a while back. Assuming the statue is solid gold (because that's it's name), and is life size, it's value would be somewhere in the region of 215 million US dollars. I don't know what that converts to in-game since none of the prices have to make sense in pelican town, but I think Clint could have shaved 1% of the volume of the statue off and got a decent retirement fund if he wanted to.
Gold in particular is weird, probably because there's literally a gold mine right next to town
It's not like it's made of pumpkin jelly or something expensive like that
