They say that the Paks nuclear power plant was planned in the 1980s for a record low level of the Danube that would only occur once in 100.000 years. I guess we are safe for at least the next 99.999 since it already surpassed that.

While some blocks of Paks NPP needs to be shut down due to low level of Danube, we (Slovakia) are net exporter of electricity. Unit 4 of NPP Mochovce is currently in last stages of commissioning, full commercial operation should start in 3q 2026. That will create surplus in power production with additional benefit to network stability. We can only hope that situation with precipitations will improve soon. Good luck bros.
