I'll stick with the REAL Oddysey game: Super Mario Oddysey
Abe's Odyssey
Finally someone knows game
I was so disappointed to not see the Darker Side on the big screen. Huge whiff from Nolan.
With all the hype around Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, I’ve seen a ton of people diving back into games inspired by Greek mythology.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is getting most of the attention (and deservedly so), but if it’s too big of a game for you, I strongly recommend you give Immortals Fenyx Rising a try.
Here’s a copy and paste for a general pitch:
“If you skipped it because it looked too cartoony, don’t. It’s basically a love letter to Greek mythology. Zeus and Prometheus narrate the entire adventure, you’re constantly interacting with gods like Athena, Ares, Aphrodite, and Hermes, and the world is packed with creatures, myths, puzzles, and clever references. The combat is fun, exploration is rewarding, and it doesn’t take itself so seriously, which ends up making it really charming. (tech4gamers.com)”
My personal take: I’ve played many many many of the iconic and large RPGs and this game always hits a sweet spot for me. The colors and combat are enough to keep you fed and it’s the perfect amount of game.

I loved this game. Great artwork and very fun gameplay with some nice surprises.
Fenyx rising fue aburrido. Traté s jugar y fue aburrido. Tus habilidades que recibiste en el juego son geniales pero el juego fue terrible.
Que?
No hablo mexican buddy, speak in American on the American platform.
Titan Quest
Titan Quest 2
Still one of the best games for diving into Greek mythology and ancient monsters.
Came here to suggest
Fenyx Rising is actually a very decent game from Ubi. Horrendous title tho.
I was bummed the sequel was dropped
I think it had a better title that was deemed too similar to another game and so it got changed to what it was. Don’t recall what the better title was though.
think it was initially called gods and monsters
I loved it but it was just too much game for me to handle. I never got to the final island.
My only regret was not waiting a month after it launched
Hades and Hades II >>>>
This is the correct answer. There are a ton of deep-cut mythological references in both games.
This is a better answer. Immortals had a great idea but it's from Ubisoft and you can tell
Just got Dream Dives unlocked in Hades 2, what fantastic games.
Yup. Dumped 90 hours into Hades 1 a few weeks ago and am already over 50 in Hades 2 and I can’t get enough.
Hades 1 almost caused me to fail all my midterms once, I don't know how I passed anything lol.
Hades and Titan Quest also come to mind
The best RPG to come out of Ubisoft in recent years, and also the worst named one.
It's basically Breath of the Wild Light. Enjoyable for a little bit, but it does wear thin. If you can get it cheap it's worth a look though.
I want a game like sea of thieves but instead of pirate fantasy it’s greek sailing shit
I tried that game. The puzzles was really bored me
Such a great game.
Troy total war or Pharaoh Total War, or God of War’s first trilogy if you want to rip them apart…
Nah fam read Everworld.
Very true. I adore that game. Almost could call it an open world puzzle game with combat, which I think is awesome
Immortals is an amazing game. Its the lost B game with evetything either trying to be indie or AAA. I had a blast playing it and was so so sad when they killed the IP
I tried this but hated so much how far out the camera view was with no way to increase it on console, made me quit the game honestly
I really like Age of Mythology 👍🏻

My recommends would be Titan Quest or Hades 1 & 2.
I mean, what’s a better game than GOW First Trilogy for Greek Mythology itch?
Yea Gears of War is great
If they port that shit I wouldn't play anything else.
A remastered version of the GOW first trilogy.
Immortals Fenyx Rising is a bit goofy, so not quite to the same level, but it is indeed fun.
Quest for Glory V
What year is it?!
I tried to enjoy it but i just found it so boring and the dialogue so cringe. I really wanted to love it.
I had the same experience! I really enjoy Greek mythology and I heard it referred to as Zelda botw but Greek mythology. That dialogue and goofiness put me off quite a bit.
Spartan: Total Warrior.
I found the gameplay fun but the dialog insufferably cringe. The humor just didn't land at all for me.
Zeus
I love AC Odyssey, but that middle 40-50 hours is just filler. “Oh, you’re looking for your mother, eh? I might know where she is… but first, I need you to do a few things for me…” Later: “Thanks for doing that quest chain, but actually I don’t know where she is. But I do know someone who might… it’s just that they might need you to do a few things for them first…”
Information aint free, man. The ancient world was absolutely a quid pro quo time.
The amount of puzzles in that game pissed me off, and I LIKE puzzles!
Insane suggestion. That game is the definition of the word mid BOTW clones with Ubisoft open world collectathon mechanics
I'm a 20yr AAA dev. I:FR is *such* a clinic in game design. It didn't get as much acclaim as it deserved because it didn't have any gimmick hook to the gameplay. It just did things that had already been done, but put them all together *perfectly*. And on top of that some of the best characterization I've seen in games.
Zeus and Prometheus' narration was hilarious and the combat flowed so well. I had a blast playing through this
God of War 1-3
Got fenyx rising for cheap on ms store still in my backlog. Loved odyssey one of my favourite games of last generation.
AC Odyssey is an incredible game. And it's absolutely beautiful. It's one woman's odyssey through Greece. You should absolutely play it. It is NOT Odysseus's odyssey.
Yeah and there’s even the historical mode to try out. I don’t see these experiences as comparable.
This game is straight ass and one of the unfunniest comedy games I have ever played. If you're interested in a Greek mythology game, just play Hades and Hades II. Infinitely better designed and written.
Total War: Troy
You don't even have to play Oddyssey, you can download the visual tour and experience the history that way.
Funnily enough, both games have the same director
PROSTAGMA?!
Fenyx Rising is just the cartoon little baby boy version of Odyssey. Just play Odyssey.
Nice game, but trying to play the funny angle with the narration really threw me off
Also Spartan total warrior for the GameCube is great
Imagine all the people buying GoW but it's the reboot
It’s a shame we never got to see Odysseus in God Of War
I love IFR. I’m still pissed they cancelled the sequel.
Good shout, I had some fun with this game. I'll also say to try both Hades games

Battle of Olympus for NES
Yea, gotta hard disagree. There are no games that scratch that itch in the same way but I would assume that due to the success of the movie we will be getting a soulslike Odyssey game at some point in the coming years. Mark my words.
AC Odyssey is good to enjoy the landscape and scenery (and vibe). There is also GOW
Also it’s basically breathe of the wild. In a lot of ways it’s Ubisoft’s take on that style of game play
Nothing could make me play an ubisoft game
If a PS3 is availible to you, all of the greek saga god of war games. They're not *super* accurate, so many creative liberties if you want to call them that. But they are a good intro into the characters to then learn what they are in reality.
AGON if you're into TTRPGs
