You could walk this trail in clown shoes. Take whatever is comfortable - it's wide and completely non-technical.
I’m going to take a trip to Spain, Switzerland, and northern Italy in September. I was planning with my mother to go and hike a trail of 5 miles on the Männlichen-Kleine trail in the Grindelwald area of Switzerland. Is it better to take hiking boots or trail runners/tennis shoes for the hike if we’re hiking for the first time in Switzerland? Normally I use trail runners in the summer and boots in the winter for my hikes in the Appalachia mountains.

I wear trail runners unless temperatures are below 10F or I am on steep snow/glaciers.
That trail is smooth, boots would be overkill
Runners will do just fine, those are all walk in the park trails.
I don't like running shoes for walking at all, but that's just me. I'd rather go in basic Vans if walking. Running shoes only for running.
Trail runners are all you ne d for something like that
