love was bad for a minute
Love was always good with Bron he just had to fill a certain role. But that role was the best fit for him next to Bron and Kyrie. I do remember they had some beef though, but I think they got over it.
Inspired by the Curry post: https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/1vcocgs/which_player_has_the_worst_chemistry_with_steph/
Thibking about all the role players/stars he played with, Westbrook is clearly the stand out.
Were there other touted signings/role players that joined forces with him and not deliver due to chemistry being non existent?

Chemistry? Westbrook was just bad. It’s why he’s not even on a team now and was playing on basically minimums ever since the Lakers stint
Ok but it helps that both dominate the ball while being reluctant shooters which is the point buddy. Which is true for basically their entire careers
3 years is a long time. In 2023 Dame, Paul George, and Deaaron Fox were all stars. They'll never be again just that fast.
He was worse on the Lakers than on any other team he's been on.
This is revisionist history. He was perfectly fine on the Wizards.
If you look it up, Westbrook put up some great numbers in games where LeBron was out. He had amazing chemistry with AD and the team was getting great looks even when his shot was off. It was that specific pairing that was such a disaster.
Kyrie left the team cuz of bron
The chemistry on court was fine though, Kyrie just had problems with his brain chemistry
Still not the worst chemistry considering they won a ring together
Lie again, Kyrie left the team because he thought he can be a number 1 option on a championship team. Obviously that isn’t true.
Antwan Jamison was supposed to push them over the edge in Cleveland and had a tough time making an impact
Antawn
Back to back 50 point games Antawn Jamison, thank you very much 😤
I think he went 0fer in his Cleveland debut game with a ton of attempts
Isaiah Thomas was a fun adventure
IT was washed though
Lmao I forgot Bron even played with Isaiah he was such a shell at that point
There was never a chemistry issue with LeBron and his teammates. There was a fit issue and Westbrook is a rare player who CANT fit in with LeBron.
“Win, lose or draw, let’s go out and have fun.”
They played together fine in the Olympics lol
Because Westbrook is basically smaller less skilled LeBron. For that fit to work they needed shooters and had melo. The worst thing they did was let Caruso walk because at worst they could've traded him. That whole roster was buns and every move made was buns after.
Mike Dunleavy comes to mind, but that was at the tail end of his career. Dion Waiters is another one.
There was def a chemistry issue with Love
Jae Crowder 100%
This is it. Only guy I can think of who was in his prime and played well before and after Lebron but just massively underperformed next to Lebron. They never figured out how to play together.
it wasn't about Lebron, Jae just sucked on the Cavs
LeBron played against podcasters and gamers
This comment is ahead of its time.
The bait on this boi is off the charts 📈
Delonte West
I knew his name would be brought up in this thread lmao
He had great chemistry with James, just not LeBron James
I mean, I feel like he had great chemistry with the James family.
Was it maybe Chalmers?
derrick rose
Not really bad chemistry. It's more on shooting. No shooting range = less space for bron to attack the paint. Also means bron can't score as easily since the defender of non shooter can just leave him
Naw it was bad chemistry with WB i completely believe the hard to coach rumors. No way every team doesnt wanna deal with you anymore but you put in 130% effort.
The very first Cavs team that he was drafted into. I remember the interviews where there were players basically saying they didn’t need him etc, a team that finished 17-65 lmfao.
Those interviews were actually from the season when he was still a senior in high school. Makes a lot more sense in that context.
Crowder
westbrook apparently has bad chemistry on every team he plays for
IT Rodney hood was good in Utah and had potential and fell off Darius miles and Ricky Davis
Fuck, Rodney Hood is a name I haven’t thought of in years
Damn, i still remember some people losing their minds because Hood wasnt getting minutes in finals. Got some buckets when he got the chance tho.
Ricky Davis
Did he and Boozer play together in Cleveland? How’d that go?
Just for LeBron’s rookie year, Boozer’s second
I know they are friends and won a chip, but I always thought klove was wayyy underutilized w bron (but maybe that was due to kyrie being there too).
He was asked to do what Brook Lopez did when Bucks won their chip. Rebound, boxout and shoot threes. I dont remember they letting KLove do anything but shoot 3s on offense in Cavs.
Fit in and stop trying to fit out (or something)
Ingram was BUNS anytime he played with Bron, it became clear as day he cannot contribute to winning basketball
Yup. If you can't play with LeBron, you can't play period. You can maybe stat pad and get paid on a bad team though (see Westbrook, Ingram, etc)
Jaylen Brown, Maxey and Embiid
Westbrook was bad before, during, and also after the Lakers if he is bring paid $50 million. He didn't seem as bad after when he was being paid closer to the minimum.
