I recently read the memoir The Running Ground: A Father, A Son, and the Simplest of Sports \[Nicholas Thompson\]. In it, the author deals with his father abandoning the family and being in and out of his life as well as the author coming to the age his father was when he had a major mid-life crisis/mental breakdown. It’s well done. I didn’t think I’d be that interested because of the content about the author running marathons, but the stuff with his dad is really engaging.
